Sorokin surpassed the iconic ultra-running mark of 97.200 km, set by Donald Ritchie at the Crystal Palace athletics track on 28 October 1978 – more than 43 years ago. Sorokin also broke the ultra-running record for the fastest 100 kilometres in Bedford.
