The farthest distance run in 6 hours by a male as sanctioned by the IAU (International Association of Ultrarunners) is 98.496 kilometres (61.202 miles), achieved by Aleksandr Sorokin (Lithuania) at the Centurion Running Track 100 Mile in Bedford, UK, on 23 April 2022.

Sorokin surpassed the iconic ultra-running mark of 97.200 km, set by Donald Ritchie at the Crystal Palace athletics track on 28 October 1978 – more than 43 years ago. Sorokin also broke the ultra-running record for the fastest 100 kilometres in Bedford.
