The most innings pitched in a single Major League Baseball postseason is 52.2 and was achieved by Madison Bumgarner (USA) pitching for the San Francisco Giants (USA) during the 2014 postseason. Madison Bumgarner became the first player to pitch more than 50 innings in a postseason as he won the 2014 World Series and was voted MVP. The record had been set at 44 innings in 1903 by Deacon Phillippe before Curt Schilling pitched 48.1 innings for the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2001 postseason. That year Schilling also won the World Series and was voted MVP.
