In mid-April 1991, I Play: 3D Soccer was released. The following month, John Madden Football ’92 was issued. Both games presented their action on a "3D" playing field. FIFA 96 was the first FIFA game to feature real-time 3D graphics in the Virtual Stadium. Madden NFL '99 introduced 3D players in an American football videogame for the first time.
