Most soundtrack albums for a videogame series

There have been at least 180 commercially released albums containing music from or inspired by the Final Fantasy videogame series. These include original soundtracks, compilations, piano collections, classical guitar renditions, 8-bit chip versions, live orchestral performances and even an arrangement album designed to be played in pubs! Reportedly the most popular release as of November 2015 was the Final Fantasy VIII Original Soundtrack released in March 1999, which had sold at least 300,000 copies in Japan alone by December of that year.
