China claimed a record 9th AFC Women’s Asian Cup – and their first since 2006 – with a 3–2 win over South Korea on 6 February 2022 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, India. The Steel Roses overturned a 2–0 half-time deficit to win thanks to an injury-time winner by Xiao Yuyi. It was the 20th edition of the tournament, which was first staged in 1975.
