On 1 June 2012, Minecraft Micro World: The Forest became the first videogame-inspired LEGO® set to be commercially released when it was made available via the brick-maker's CUUSOO website.

CUUSOO is a site created by The LEGO® Group in 2008 to give aspiring LEGO® builders a forum to showcase their ideas for potential LEGO® sets. Those that receive enough votes, and pass LEGO's review, are released for sale with the original creator earning a portion of the royalties.
