The most FIS Ski Jumping World Cup overall titles won by a male jumper is 4, and was first achieved by Matti Nykänen (Finland) in the 1982-83, 1984-85, 1985-86 and the 1987-88 World Cup seasons. This feat was equalled by Adam Malysz (Poland) in 2000-01, 20001-02, 2002-03 and 2006-07.
The FIS Ski Jumping World Cup is an annual event that began in 1979 with jumpers taking part in a variety of events throughout the season to earn points. The highest ranked athlete at the end of the season wins a crystal globe. In the 2013-14 edition of the World Cup there were 28 individual events in 20 different venues in 9 countries around the world.
