Heaviest Paralympic powerlift (-59 kg, male)

The heaviest para powerlift by a male in the -59 kg category is 211 kg (465 lb), achieved by Sherif Osman (Egypt) on 9 September 2016 at the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Osman, who contracted polio at the age of nine months, has set world records in four different weight categories (-52, -54, -56 and -59 kg). He is currently the only para powerlifter to hold world records more than one category still on the Paralympic programme (-54 and -59 kg).
