The largest face mask (surgical mask) measures 8.3m (27 ft 3 in) x 4.79m (15 ft 9 in) and was achieved by Motex Healthcare Corp and Center Healthcare Technology Co. Ltd. (both China) in Changhua, Taiwan,China, on 14 January 2022.
Center Healthcare Corporation manufactures over 50 kinds of surgical face masks traded under the brand name of Motex. It first manufactured surgical face masks in 2003 in response to the SARS epidemic.
This record attempt was based on the specifications of Motex's most popular 3D diamond shaped mask, made with four layers of non-woven fabric.
The area of the record-setting mask, when laid flat, is 39.76 m² ( 427 ft² 140 in²).
