In 1834, Dr Raina and Dr Galvagni of Cattania, Italy, described the case of a stillborn three-headed infant. It was an instance of extreme conjoined twinning, but one of the necks had two heads. For many years, the credibility of Raina and Galvagni’s case report was debated – until a very similar case was published in 2005.
