The youngest male gold medallist in the World Artistic Gymnastics championships floor event is Kenzo Shirai (Japan, b. 24 August 1996), who won the title aged 17 years 42 days in Antwerp, Belgium, on 5 October 2013. Shirai also became the first person ever to perform a quadruple twist in a major final – something he had learned at the age of 14.
