The oldest coach to win the UEFA European Championships is Luis Aragones (Spain, b. 28 July 1938), who was aged 69 years 337 days when he won the 2008 Championships with Spain at the Ernst-Happel Stadium, in Vienna, Austria, on 29 June 2008.
Although Aragones won the tournament, he didn't stay on to coach Spain for the 2010 World Cup. However, he is credited with the turn around in Spanish fortunes from perennial dark horses to tournament winners by instilling more belief into the side and employing the "Tiki-Taka" style of play based on short passing and retaining ball possession.
