The greatest vertical descent on a mountain bike in 24 hours (male) is 40,840.5 m (133,991 ft 1 in) and was achieved by Amir Kabbani and Patrick Schweika (both Germany) in an attempt supported by Mercedes-Benz Vans, in Schladming, Austria, on 11-12 October 2018.

This is a record title for an individual but Amir and Patrick did their attempt simultaneously and so achieved the same result at the same time so they are joint holders of the record. Amir and Patrick finished 38 laps with an altitude difference of 1074.75 m (3,526 ft 1 in).The drive back to the start of each run took place on rocky forest roads using a Mercedes-Benz X-Class.
