The youngest player to win 100 international football (soccer) caps is Cha Bum-Kun (South Korea, b. 22 May 1953), who was aged 24 years 139 days when he played his 100th game against Kuwait in Seoul, South Korea, on 9 October 1977. Despite his rapid rise to 100 caps, Cha Bum-Kun would only go on to win 121 caps in total. In 1978, aged 25, he moved to the Bundesliga, where he enjoyed a hugely successful career in Germany at the expense of representing the national team. He would only play three international matches after his move to Germany: South Korea's three World Cup games at the 1986 World Cup.
