When Chelsea won the Europa League on 15 May 2013, two team members, Fernando Torres and Juan Mata (both Spain), simultaneously held four of the most prestigious titles in world football – the World Cup, European Championship, Champions League and Europa League. Fernando Torres also holds the distinction of having played in the finals of all four tournaments – Juan Mata was in the 2010 World Cup squad but he didn't appear in the final. Torres scored in two of the finals (2012 European Championships vs Italy and 2013 Europa League vs Benfica). Mata also scored against Italy.
