Neymar (Brazil) became the first player to score hat-trick in both the Copa Libertadores and Champions League when he scored three goals against Celtic at the Nou Camp, Barcelona, Spain on 11 December 2013. He had previously scored a hattrick for Santos verus Internacional in the Copa Libertadores at Vila Belmiro, Santos, Brazil, on 7 March 2012. The Copa Libertadores and the Champions League are the most prestigious continental competitions in South America and Europe respectively. To date only seven players have managed to win both tournaments, the most recent being Ronaldinho. However, no player had managed the distinction of scoring a hat-trick in both tournaments until Neymar's feat.
