Most money pledged for a Kickstarter comic project

Rich Burlew's (USA) Kickstarter project titled "The Order of the Stick Reprint Drive" was successfully funded on 21 February 2012 to the tune of $1,254,120 (£790,570). The original goal of $57,750 (£36,400) was far surpassed by the 14,952 backers. The comic project sought funding to reprint out-of-print The Order of the Stick books. The author was unable to fund the cost of the reprint on his own so turned to fans of the series, via Kickstarter, to enable more copies to be made.
