Three actors jointly hold the record for the most appearances in billion-dollar-grossing movies, with three appearances each: Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011), Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (2006), and Alice in Wonderland (2010)), Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight Rises (2012), The Dark Knight (2010), and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part 2 (2010)), and Hugo Weaving (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012), Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011) and Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)). Between them, these three men have appeared in over 50% of the films which have thus far earned over $1 billion.
