The most brothers to play in the same NRL rugby league team is four, and was first achieved by Ray, Roy, Rex and Bernard Norman (all Australia) playing for Annandale in the 1910 season. This feat was equalled by Sam, Luke, Tom and George Burgess (all UK), who played for South Sydney Rabbitohs against Wests Tigers at the Allianz Stadium in Sydney, Australia, on 30 August 2013. The Norman brothers actually played in the NSWRL (New South Wales Rugby League), which is considered the predecessor to the NRL. The Burgess brothers' appearance was no PR Stunt: the Rabbitohs won the game 32–18 in the penultimate round of the regular season with both Sam and Luke scoring tries. Luke is the eldest, followed by Sam. Tom and George are twins – they were born in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.
