The fastest marathon run barefoot by a woman is 2 hours 45 minutes 34 seconds by Pham Thi Binh (Vietnam) at the 27th South East Asia Games in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, on 16 December 2013.

The "Barefoot Queen" trained without shoes for a year, running up to 60 km (37 miles) a day in preparation for the 2013 SEA Games. Her victory in the race resulted in her first gold medal at an international level. Then still a student at Da Nang Sports University, she achieved her barefoot marathon success following surgery for a rare congenital heart disease.
