Completed in 2007, and offering 19,960 m² of usable space, the arena has hosted football games and entertainment events, which are viewed from a 27,000-capacity grandstand on the nearby shoreline. Using pontoon-type VLFS technology, it is fixed to the seabed by six pylons, and can bear the total weight of 9,000 people, 200 tonnes of stage props and three 30-tonne military vehicles.
