The ski-jump facility at Vikersundbakken in Vikersund, Norway, is constructed from a combination of man-made structure and modified natural hill, and reaches a total height of 225 m (738 ft). Begun in 1935, it attained its current form in 2011 after extensive alterations designed by Janez Gorišek and Sebastjan Gorišek, including gravel sidewalls to reduce the effects of wind on competitors. Up to 20,000 spectators can watch the action.
