The Rolls-Royce MT30 marine gas turbine engine is designed to provide propulsion and electricity to naval vessels. Each one measures 4.4 m long and weighs 6,346 kg (27,780 kg including enclosure and ancillary systems), and can provide a maximum of 40 megawatts of power. It was first successfully tested in September 2002.
