The largest building deliberately shaped to be like a lotus flower is the 40-m-high (131.2-ft) Lotus Temple (Bahá'í House of Worship) in New Delhi, India. Opened on 24 December 1986, and designed by architect Fariborz Sahba, it features 27 marble-clad petals grouped in nine clusters to create the roof.
