Days before his 50th birthday, Kelly Slater won his eighth Billabong Pro Pipeline title in Hawaii, USA, defeating Seth Moniz in the final. It was 30 years since he claimed his first Pipe Masters title. The 11-time world title holder described it as “the best win of my life”. The World Surf League Championship Tour was known as the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) World Tour from 1983 to 2014.
