The youngest female athlete to win a medal in an IAAF World Athletics Championships relay event is Dina Asher-Smith (UK, b. 4 December 1995), who won a bronze medal with the Great Britain 4 x 100 metres relay team aged 17 years 247 days at the 14th IAAF World Championships in Moscow, Russia, on 18 August 2013. Dina Asher-Smith is from south London, UK, and is still attending school. She will compete in the Junior World Championships in 2014. Her specialist distance is 200 metres and she cites Christine Ohuruogu as one of her role models.
