On 19 March 2008, Lloyd's reported that Ilja Gort (Netherlands) had his nose insured for €5 million (£3.9 million; $7.8 million). Gort – the owner of the vineyard Chateau de La Garde in Bordeaux, France, and producer of Tulipe Wines – insured his nose in an attempt to protect his livelihood.
