Scottish DJ Calvin Harris (b. Adam Wiles) earned a staggering $63 million (£43.1 million) in the 12 months to 1 June 2016, according to Forbes' "Electronic Cash Kings" survey. Harris had topped the highest-earning DJ list for the previous two years also, earning $66 million per annum in both cases. Harris's earning power was boosted by his lucrative club residency in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Harris's success saw him take the number 21 spot in Forbes' Celebrity 100 list.
Earnings were calculated for the 12-month period from 1 June 2015 to 1 June 2016.
Forbes' "Electronic Cash Kings" survey was inaugurated in 2012 (for the period 1 June 2011 to 1 June 2012) in recognition of the popularity of electronic dance music (aka EDM). Tiësto was ranked No.1 in 2012 with earnings of $22 million (£14.3 million as at 1 June 2012). Harris has topped the rankings ever since, with earnings of $46 million (2013), $66 million (2014), $66 million again (2015) and now $63 million (2016).
