The most drunken sailor dance steps in 30 seconds is 77 and was achieved by Kevin Clifton (UK) on 'Strictly Come Dancing- It Takes Two' (BBC) on 22 November 2013.
The record attempt was staged as part of the 'Strictly Come Dancing- It Takes Two' annual "pro dance challenge", in which the show's professional dancers compete for a Guinness World Records dance record title. It was Kevin's first pro challenge world record attempt, having only joined the show in 2013. Two of his steps were discounted for not being executed with the correct technique (second step crossing behind the supporting leg). The "drunken sailor" is a 3 step sequence, therefore Kevin actually completed 231 individual steps in total within the 30 seconds.
