The world's largest herd of white deer can be found within the confines of the former Seneca Army Depot at Seneca County in New York State, USA. It currently contains approximately 300 white deer, with an additional 400 normal-coloured deer. Their species is the North American white-tailed deer Odocoileus virginianus, and their white coat results from a recessive non-albino mutant gene allele; their eye colour is dark, not pink.
