The rodent with most teeth is the silvery mole-rat Heliophobius argenteocinereus. Native to Central and East Africa, including Tanzania, Kenya and the Democratic Republic of Congo, it possess no fewer than 24 grinding teeth (premolars and molars) plus four incisors, making a total of 28 teeth.
