The oldest surviving printed work is the Dharani scroll or sutra from wooden printing blocks found in the foundations of the Pulguk Sa pagoda, Kyŏngju, South Korea, on 14 October 1966. It has been dated to no later than AD 704, meaning that as of 2013 it is 1,309 years old.
It was claimed in November 1973 that a 28-page book of Tang dynasty poems at Yonsei University, Korea, was printed from metal type c. 1160.
