The oldest female to debut as a leading actress in a film is Harue Akagi (Japan, b. 14 March 1924), who was 88 years, 175 days old when she starred in Pecoross No Haha Ni Ai Ni Iku (Japan), which was released on 9 November 2013. Harue Akagi debuted as a professional actress when she was 16 years old. She had starred in 133 films prior to Pecoross No Haha Ni Ai Ni Iku, however never as a leading actress but as supporting actress. She has also appeared in many TV dramas.
