Oldest brown bear in captivity ever

On 24 May 2013, a European brown bear (Ursus arctos) named Andreas died in a sanctuary built by the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) in northern Greece. Andreas, who reached the age of 50, was one of the last dancing bears in Greece. In January 1993, he was rescued as part of a project ending the Greek trade of dancing bears.
The average life span of a brown bear in the wild is 25 years.
