Snugburys Ice Cream (UK) have been making straw sculptures for over 10 years and, in 2013, constructed a 10.6-m (35-ft) sculpture of a Dalek. The sculpture, made in celebration of the TV show Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary, took 700 hours to complete and used 6 tonnes (13,440 lb) of straw and 5 tonnes (11,200 lb) of steel.
The Dalek can be seen from the Nantwich - Chester A51 road.
Snugbury's also created a limited edition "DaLICK" ice cream with some of the profits going to Cancer Research UK.
Past sculptures include a meerkat, polar bear, Olympic cyclists and Big Ben.
