A crowd of 60,891 people watched the feat at Villa Park - the game finished 7-1 and at the time it was a record in English football at all levels. However, just 12 days later Bunny Bell would notch nine for Tranmere against Oldham in the Third Division North meaning Drake only holds the record in top division football in England.
