The first fighting videogame with a perfect 40/40 score in Japan's Famitsu magazine is SoulCalibur (Namco, 1999). Very few games receive the perfect score – Famitsu was first published in 1986 and SoulCalibur was only the second recipient. As of September 2013, a total of 21 games have been recognized.
