The heaviest bell pepper – a cultivar of Capsicum annuum – weighed 720 g (1 lb 9 oz) and was grown by Ian Neale (UK) and ratified at the Canna UK National Giant Vegetables Championships, staged at the Malvern Autumn Show in the Three Counties Showground, Malvern, Worcestershire, UK, on 29 September 2018.
Neale, of Langstone, Newport, Wales, is a multiple Guinness World Records title holder for his prodigious celery, beetroots, swedes and cucumbers. He made the news in 2011 when he befriended the US rapper Snoop Dogg and shared tips on growing big vegetables.
