The most fatalities in a Mortal Kombat videogame is 76, in the PlayStation 3 game Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition (NetherRealm Studios, 2012).
The previous record holder was Mortal Kombat Trilogy (Avalanche Software, 1996), which featured 68 fatalities.
Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition includes all the extra DLC - including the four additional characters - on the disc. The PlayStation 3 version has more fatalities than the 360 version as it includes Kratos from the God of War series. Stage Fatalities are also included in the totals. They differ from the normal Fatalities as the player uses the arena to kill their opponent, but they're still classified as Fatalities. Hence the name.
Who can forget the first time they saw Sub-Zero detach the spinal column from his hapless victim or Liu Kang crush his opponent underneath a falling arcade cabinet? We are, of course, talking about the infamous Mortal Kombat fatalities.
