On 8 July 2012, team CafeID (South Korea) – consisting of Kwang-noh “Mad KOF” Lee, Min-su “Verna” Shin, Pirsu “Guts” Jun and Myung-gu “Lacid” Kang – took four of the top eight positions in The King of Fighters XIII (SNK Playmore, 2010) tournament. Occupying first, third, fourth and joint-fifth place, CafeID became the most successful King of Fighters team. The Evolution Championship Series – or Evo – is an annual eSports event that focuses exclusively on fighting games.

The King of Fighters is a fighting game series, first developed and published by SNK Playmore in 2010.

The King of Fighters XIII is one of the most technically demanding fighting games ever made.

Second place went to Armando “Bala” Velázquez after an epic showdown with Mad KOF’s formidable team of Duo Lon, Chin and Kim.
