In April 2013, Microsoft and Activision teamed up to find the best Call of Duty: Black Ops II players in the world with a competition (held in Los Angeles, USA) that they dubbed the "Call of Duty Championship, presented by Xbox”. The competition was held from 5–7 April and saw competing teams harvested from around the world. It included squads from the ESL and MLG eSports leagues. In the end, team Fariko Impact, consisting of Damon “Karma” Barlow, Adam “Killa” Sloss, Marcus “MiRx” Carter and team captain Christopher “Parasite” Duarte, prevailed, taking home the $400,000 (£260,675) top prize on 7 April from the tournament’s $1,000,000 (£651,687) prize purse.
