The largest singing bowl ensemble consists of 375 participants and was achieved by Bihar State Sports Authority and Buddhist Monks of Gaya (both India) in Gaya, Bihar, India on 26 April 2025.
The record was attempted to raise awareness and promote “Khelo India 2025 Games”. “Khelo India” is an initiative by the Government of India and aims to revive the sports culture in India at the grass-root level by building a strong framework for all sports played in the country. The state of Bihar has been an active participant in promoting this national vision.
Both Bihar State Sports Authority and Buddhist Monks of Gaya came together to lend a spiritual start to the games by attempting the largest singing bowl ensemble. The attempt took place in the premises of the Mahabodhi Temple and very close to the Bodhi Tree, the very tree beneath which Buddha attained enlightenment.
