The Gears of War franchise has sold 22.59 million units in total, as of 24 January 2016, also making it the best-selling TPS series.
There have been four Gears of Wars games to date: Gears of War (2006), Gears of War 2 (2008), Gears of War 3 (2011) and Gears of War: Judgment (2013).
Gears of War 4 is being developed and is set to be released in 2016 as an Xbox One exclusive.
