The most expensive gaming case was initially given away in a competition by UK retailer GAME, and then re-sold at auction. Designed by jewellery company Theo Fennell, the DVD box for FIFA World Cup 2006 (EA Sports, 2006) was made of sterling silver and 18-carat gold. It sold for £4,800 (US$9,513; 7,070 Euro) including premium when it was offered at Bonhams, London, UK, on 4 June 2007. Hand engraved and set with 0.96-carat brilliant cut diamonds, it measures 19 cm x 15.5 cm x 1.5 cm and weighs 650 grams and it was made to replicate the Xbox 360 version. The front cover has the FIFA trade mark and the 20 flags of the competing countries. EA Sports' logo is encrusted with diamonds.
