The most medals won at the Winter Olympic Games by a female athlete is 15, by cross-country skier Marit Bjørgen (Norway) between 2002 and 2018. On 25 February 2018, Bjørgen won her 15th medal overall with gold in the women’s 30 km mass start classic in Pyeongchang, South Korea. This is the most medals won at a Winter Olympics by any athlete, male or female.

Bjørgen medalled at five consecutive Winter Olympics, amassing a tally of eight golds, four silvers and three bronze. She won five medals at two different games: in 2010 (three golds, a silver and a bronze) and 2018 (two golds, a silver and two bronze).
