At 8,163 m (26,781 ft), Manaslu in Nepal is the eighth highest mountain in the world. The first recorded summit was made by Toshio Imanishi (Japan) and Sherpa Gyalzen Norbu (India) making the ascent on 9 May 1956.
The team was led by Yuko Maki (Japan), with two members of the team Toshio Imanishi and Sherpa Gyalzen Norbu who were the first to make the ascent.
