The largest display of origami butterflies consists of 42,516 butterflies and was achieved by Sugaya Elementary School (Japan) in Hiki, Saitama, Japan, on 18 September 2024.
The attempt involved 414 students, 40 faculty members, parents and many other people. The display was made to celebrate the school's 150th anniversary.
