Germany have won the two-man bobsleigh World Championships 20 times. As Germany they won in 1931, 1938, 1991, 1993, 1995–96, 2000–01, 2003, 2007–08 and 2013 (12 wins), as East Germany they won in 1981, 1985–86 and 1989 (four wins), and as West Germany they won in 1951, 1970, 1973–74 (four wins).
