It is impossible to state categorically when the skateboard was invented it and who invented it – patents for wheeled boards on which riders could propel themselves forward for recreational purposes were first logged in the early part of the 20th century, while by the mid 1950s many early skateboarders were making their own skateboards. Early commercial skateboards include Humco (1958), Greg Noll (1958), Roller Derby (1959), Val Surf (1962), Makaha (1963) and Super Surfer (1965) versions (all USA).
