The most match appearances by an individual player in a Five/Six Nations career is 69, and was achieved by Sergio Parisse (Italy, b. Argentina), between 15 February 2004 and 16 March 2019.

Parisse broke the tournament record of Ireland’s Brian O’Driscoll with his 66th tournament appearance, against Scotland at Murrayfield in Edinburgh, Scotland, on 2 February 2019.

Parisse had equalled O’Driscoll's mark during Italy’s 29–27 defeat to Scotland on 17 March 2018 – remarkably, his 100th defeat in test rugby, the first player to reach this unwanted milestone. The Italian No. 8 has won just nine of his 69 Five/Six Nations games, compared with O’Driscoll’s 45 victories in the competition.
